Terms of service
Last updated 19 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Apprentice. They cover the website, the console, and the API at runapprentice.com. The privacy policy explains what we do with your data.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. The open-source plugin is licensed separately, under the licence in its repository. These terms cover the service when the plugin talks to Apprentice.
The short versionLink to this section
- The service is free. We will not charge you unless you opt in.
- You keep what you send, and you own the outputs.
- Capture runs only after you say yes.
- Indian law applies. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
1. Who can use itLink to this section
You must be 18 or older, and the information you give us must be accurate. Keep your API keys secret, and tell us if one leaks. You are responsible for activity under your account and your keys.
2. The service is freeLink to this section
There is no paid plan. The hosted-training page is a request. It does not start a job, and it does not charge you. Training that runs today runs on your machine. If we add paid features, we will tell you first, and we will not charge you unless you opt in.
3. What is still earlyLink to this section
Some parts of the product are not finished. Choosing to promote a model records that choice. It does not move live traffic.
4. The plugin and captureLink to this section
The main skill does not change your code, and it does not send your prompts. Capture sends a call's input and output only after you give a clear yes. That call is a visible line in your code. Delete the line and capture stops. If Apprentice cannot be reached, your app keeps running, and that call is not recorded.
5. Your contentLink to this section
You keep your rights in what you send. As between you and us, you own the outputs. You give us a limited licence to host, process, and transmit that content only to run the service for you. You must have the rights to any personal data in your prompts and rows. If you send us a suggestion, we may use it, with no obligation to you.
6. Models you trainLink to this section
A fine-tune or an optimized prompt you produce is yours. If it is built on a base model, that base model's licence still applies, and you must follow it.
7. ResultsLink to this section
Output can be wrong. Review it before you rely on it. We do not promise that a smaller model, or an optimized prompt, will beat the one you use now. Your own evaluation decides.
8. Acceptable useLink to this section
You may not:
- break the law
- attack or probe our systems, or anyone else's
- use someone else's account
- upload data you do not have rights to
- work around rate limits
- send malware
- abuse the public forms
9. Other servicesLink to this section
Sign-in and model providers have their own terms. The plugin's code follows the licence in its repository.
10. StoppingLink to this section
You can stop at any time. Delete your tasks, revoke your keys, and remove the capture line. Email us to close the account, and export what you need first. We will delete the account when you ask. We may suspend access if you break these terms, or to protect the service. We may discontinue the service. Where we can, we will tell you in time for you to export your data.
11. WarrantiesLink to this section
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. THIS INCLUDES WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE.
12. LiabilityLink to this section
TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, APPRENTICE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO INR 1,000. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT THE LAW DOES NOT ALLOW TO BE LIMITED.
13. ChangesLink to this section
We may update these terms, and we will change the date at the top. For a material change, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, by email or in the product. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the change. A change does not apply to a dispute that has already started.
14. DisputesLink to this section
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before you file a claim, email us at abhishek@runapprentice.com. We will both spend 30 days trying to settle it. After that, the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction. There is no arbitration.
15. GeneralLink to this section
These terms are the whole agreement between you and Apprentice about the service. If a court holds one part unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Waiting to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms. We may transfer them if the service moves to someone else. We are not liable for a delay caused by something outside our reasonable control. A notice by email counts.
